Congratulations Sectional Skaters! 

What an exciting weekend full of great skating.  I am so proud of all five of you on amazing performances.

Results are:

Pre-juvenile - Jordan 6th, Sarah 8th

Juvenile Womans Champion - Daninelle Gitzel

Pre Novice - Brooklyn 4th

Novice - Stacey 2nd

Danielle, Brooklyn and Stacey have all earned spots on this years Manitoba provincial team, as well, Brooklyn and Stacey have qualified for challenge in Missisauga in December.  For Brooklyn's level this competition is the end of the road for pre novice ladies so it will be like a nationals for skaters at that level and for Stacey it is a Canadian qualifying competition.  She will compete against the top skaters in Canada and the top 18(I believe) will move on to the Candian Championships.

 

Sask Skate Results:

Recently some of our competitive skaters headed to Saskatoon to compete against the top skaters in Western Canada.  Results are:

 We had a number of skaters represent our club at the Stony Mountain Competition the end of March.  See results below.

Darian Compton - Pre-preliminary open - 3 gold, 1 silver

Bailey Gitzel - Pre-preliminary open - 3 bronze

Congratulations to our Canskater of the year, Miss Emma Doell!  Spirit of skating medals were also awarded to Griffin Muggeridge and Meaghan Sandercock.  Great skating!

 

Our skaters had a great showing at provincials in St. Adolphe.  Results are:

Congratulations to Darian Compton, Danielle Gitzel, Sian Kroeker, Ryley Kowalski, Brooklyn Parker, Jordan Parker and Tea Wiebe for being selected to the Jr. TOBA provincial team!

 

We had 10 skaters advance from regionals to the StarSkate Provincials in St. Adolfe the first weekend of March.  Everyone that competed put forth great performances.  Job well done!

Stacey Woods had personal best scores in both her long and short prgram at the Western Challenge in Missisauga placing 19th.  We are very proud of your accomplishments Stacey!

Congratulations to Stacey Woods on a 3rd place finish at the BMO Skate Canada Sectionals in Portage which qualified her to represent Morden at the Western Challenge in Missisauga, Ontario on December 7-9th.  The western challenge competition is a stepping stone on the way to qualifying for the Canadian Jr. Nationals. 

Brooklyn Parker also had a strong showing at the Sectional competition in Portage, placing 4th in the Juvenile ladies event.  Great skating ladies!

Two of our skaters, Stacey Woods and Brooklyn Parker, have recently been chosen by Skate Canada Manitoba to represent Manitoba at the SaskSkate Invitational Skating Competition in Saskatoon at the end of September.  The events will be comprised of the top skaters from the 4 western provinces starting at the pre-juvenile level and going up to Senior.  Your hard work is paying off ladies!  Danielle Gitzel will also be taking part in the preliminary event in the open side of the competition.

5 Skaters represented Morden at the Prairie Skate Competition in Brandon this Summer.  Congratulations go out to Stacey Woods, Brooklyn Parker, Danielle Gitzel, Jordan Parker and Bailey Gitzel for a job well done!
